At least two Delhi schools received bomb threats on Tuesday, leading authorities to evacuate the campuses and ensure the students were moved to safety.

At least three schools in Delhi received bomb threats on Tuesday morning, prompting authorities to evacuate the premises as police, bomb disposal teams and fire services launched extensive search operations. The British School, Sanskriti School and Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in the New Delhi district received the threats through emails. Police teams were alerted between around 10:30 am and 10:45 am, following which Delhi Police, bomb detection and disposal squads, dog squads and Delhi Fire Services personnel were sent to the schools. The school premises were evacuated as a precautionary measure while security teams carried out detailed anti-sabotage checks. Police said no suspicious object or material had been found during the searches so far.

Authorities are also examining the threatening emails and working to identify the sender. Sardar Patel Vidyalaya informed parents that all students had been safely evacuated from the campus and that police had been alerted. In a message, the school said, “Dear parents, the school has received a security threat. All students have been safely evacuated from the school premises. The police have been informed and are taking the necessary steps.” The school also said that Middle School students had already completed their examinations, while Senior School students had finished most of their exams.

A decision on the remaining Senior School examinations will be taken after assessing the situation, the school said. Parents at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya said the school was scheduled to begin its half-yearly examinations on Tuesday. However, the bomb threat led to the immediate evacuation of students and staff as a precautionary measure.
