Maruti Suzuki Cars Set To Get Costlier By Up To ₹20,000, Select Models Affected!
Maruti Suzuki India has announced a price hike of up to ₹20,000 on select car models from September 2026.
Buying a Maruti Suzuki car is set to become more expensive, with the automaker announcing a price increase of up to ₹20,000 on select models from September 2026. The company made the announcement on Monday, citing continued pressure from rising input costs and inflation. This is the third price hike announced by Maruti Suzuki since May. However, unlike the previous two increases, which were applicable across the company's entire vehicle portfolio, the latest revision will be limited to selected models. Maruti Suzuki said it has been taking several internal measures to absorb the impact of higher costs.
However, with the cost environment remaining challenging, the company said it has been forced to pass on part of the additional burden to customers. The automaker attributed the latest revision to a continuous increase in input costs and elevated inflationary pressures. While the maximum increase will be ₹20,000, the exact hike will vary depending on the model and variant. The company has not yet provided a complete model wise breakdown of the revised prices. Customers considering a new Maruti Suzuki vehicle may therefore want to check the updated ex-showroom price applicable to their chosen model and variant before making a purchase.
The latest announcement comes at a time when India's passenger vehicle market continues to see strong demand. Maruti Suzuki reported total sales of 2,19,220 units in August, marking a 21.3% increase compared with the same month last year. The price hike also comes amid similar moves by other automakers. Tata Motors, for instance, recently increased prices of its passenger vehicles by up to ₹25,000 from September 1. For prospective buyers, the latest revision means that selected Maruti Suzuki cars will now carry a higher price tag, adding to the overall cost of purchasing a new vehicle during the upcoming festive season.
